Jennie Miskell joined Lowis & Gellen, LLP as an Associate in 2019. She concentrates her practice in civil litigation with a focus on medical malpractice defense and long term care, representing physicians, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare providers in a variety of specialties.
Prior to joining Lowis & Gellen, Ms. Miskell worked at prominent Chicago plaintiffs’ firms where she gained extensive experience in a variety of complex and catastrophic injury cases including railroad-related personal injury cases filed under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (“FELA”), auto and trucking accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and Federal Tort Claims Act (“FTCA”) cases. Ms. Miskell has considerable experience in all phases of litigation from pre-suit investigation up to and including trial.
Ms. Miskell received the distinction of “Emerging Lawyer” from Law Bulletin Media for 2018 and 2019. Emerging Lawyers are identified by their peers to be among the top lawyers who are age 40 or younger or have practiced for no more than 10 years, and who have demonstrated outstanding aptitude for the practice of law in the early stages of their legal career. Less than 2% of all lawyers licensed in each state have received the distinction of Emerging Lawyer.
Additionally, Ms. Miskell completed several externships during her law school career, including the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic in Rockford, IL and the Lake County Public Defender’s Office in Waukegan, IL.
Ms. Miskell is admitted to practice in both State and Federal Courts at both the trial and appellate levels. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.
