Marla Izbicky is a trial attorney who concentrates her practice on representing hospitals, physicians, and healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice litigation. Ms. Izbicky is involved in all stages of litigation, including motion practice, written and oral discovery, pre-trial and mediation hearings, and jury trials.
Prior to joining Lowis & Gellen, Ms. Izbicky’s practice focused on medical malpractice defense of hospitals and physicians. Ms. Izbicky is an active member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and is a chair of the Civil Litigation Committee. She is also a member of the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society and Chicago Bar Association. Ms. Izbicky serves as Secretary on The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Izbicky received her Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. While at Cardozo, Ms. Izbicky was an Articles Editor for the Arts and Entertainment Law Journal and her note, “A Legislative Pendency Proposal to Address the Consumer Harm Caused by the Broken Retransmission System,” was published in that same journal. Ms. Izbicky was a finalist in the Langfan Oratorical Competition at Cardozo. She also served as a Research Assistant to Professor Marci A. Hamilton. Prior to law school, Ms. Izbicky attended Brandeis University, where she graduated cum laude, with honors.
