Mr. McManaman concentrates his practice on civil litigation, representing private businesses and governmental entities. His cases involve contract claims, shareholder actions and business tort claims as well as civil rights actions, employment disputes and appeals.

Mr. McManaman also regularly advises clients on various employment issues, including the drafting and negotiation of employment agreements, personnel manuals and employee handbooks. He counsels employers on termination and disciplinary decisions as well as the handling of employee-to-employee complaints before they become lawsuits.

Before coming to Lowis & Gellen, Mr. McManaman served for 6 years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, where he represented high level government officials in complex litigation.

Outside of work, he is actively involved in the Chicago Bar Association and has served as an instructor for Loyola Law School’s Comparative Trial Advocacy Program in London, England. Mr. McManaman also serves on several committees at local schools and coaches youth sports teams.
