Our Aviation Practice Group consists of Galen Satterlee and Pam Gellen. Together they provide the skills of a pilot and depth and breadth of experience in litigation and dispute resolution. Our Aviation work is centered in the Arizona office. Pam, in Chicago, provides additional litigation support.
Galen Satterlee is based in Phoenix. He is an experienced litigator and has handled numerous high-profile aviation crash cases throughout Arizona. Galen has successfully resolved a multiple-fatality mid-air collision case that involved medical transport helicopters in Flagstaff. He successfully handled a multiple-fatality, fixed-wing crash in the Superstition Mountains, and a helicopter explosion case at Glendale Municipal Airport, among others. Galen has successfully taken cases to verdict and has experience in arbitrations, jury trials and bench trials, in Arizona and in other states. Galen is recognized as a Leading Lawyer among his peers, having been named among the top 2.5% of lawyers under 40 years old in the Southwest every year since 2012.
Pam Gellen is based in Chicago. One of the founders of Lowis & Gellen LLP, Pam has over 35 years of litigation experience, including defense of a wide variety of products, owners and manufacturers in state and federal courts, numerous jury trials, and appellate experience. She has been named by Chicago Lawyer magazine as one of Chicago’s Top Twenty Tort Defense Lawyers and has consistently been selected as a Super Lawyer and Leading Lawyer. Pam also has an interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution with training as a mediator through a program at Loyola University School of Law. She is a court certified mediator for the Circuit Court of Cook County and has acted as a mediator and advocate in several mediations and arbitrations. Pam is admitted to practice in Illinois, Michigan and New York and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar.
