FOCUS
Kevin Clancy is a former law clerk to a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He has over 10 years of appellate experience and has successfully represented clients in appeals to the Illinois Appellate Court, the U.S Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit Court. In addition, he prepared an amicus curiae brief to the Illinois Supreme Court challenging the applicability of the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act to putative nationwide class action cases. Consistent with that brief, the Court then issued an opinion significantly restricting the use of that Act in such cases.
EDUCATION
Mr. Clancy graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1993. He also graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Illinois with a B.A. in Economics in 1990. After graduating from law school, Mr. Clancy served as a law clerk to the Honorable Harlington Wood, Jr. on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
